McLaren 720S Velocita By DMC Gets 744 HP, Carbon Fiber Parts

The McLaren 720S is a perfectly balanced machine with impressive performance that allows it to take on more powerful rivals.

So, it doesn’t really need any aftermarket upgrades to stand out. However, DMC disagree, so they have presented a new visual upgrade package for the British supercar.

Named Stage 1, it consists of new, carbon-fiber made front apron, grille, side skirts, diffuser and wing. The parts are said to improve downforce, and are joined by a new pair of alloy wheels, 9.5×20-inch at the front, and 11×21-inch at the rear, shod in 245/30 and 305/35 Pirelli P Zero tires.

The project is called the 720S Velocita by the German tuner. ‘Velocita’ is Italian for ‘speed’, and it best describes this supercar, which is capable of rocketing to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds, or one tenth of a second quicker than the stock model.

This has been achieved with a software modification and a new heat-resisting, stainless polished steel exhaust system with muffler flaps, which have raised the output of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 to 755 PS (744 hp / 555 kW) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque. That’s an extra 35 PS (35 hp / 26 kW) and 10 Nm (7 lb-ft) of torque over the regular McLaren 720S.

The power boost for the 720S has been available at DMC ever since earlier this year, when they unveiled the ‘Rhein’ version.
