Renntech VS Brabus, Which One Tuning Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² do You Prefer?

Apparently squeezing an additional 102hp and 128lb-ft (174Nm) of torque from the 4.0-liter V8 engine that powers the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² makes it an “ultimate off-road machine” for Renntech.

The extra oomph provides total output to 518hp and 578lb-ft (784Nm) of torque, and we’re absolutely fine with that, however, the tuning company’s most recent project has a serious competitor – the Brabus 550 Adventure 4×4².

Unlike Renntech, which called it a day after tuning the ECU and adding a BOV adapter and downpipes, Brabus went the extra mile and massaged the twin-turbo V8 lump to a far more amazing 542hp and 590lb-ft (800Nm) of torque. They declare that it requires just 6.7sec for the naught to 62mph (100km/h) sprint, before topping out in 130mph (209km/h), and that is very respectable, due to the fact it tips the level in roughly 3 tons (6,614lbs).

Additionally, the even more civilized version of the of the Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6, which includes ‘just’ two axles, was fitted with other features by Brabus also, that could be called flashy simply by some, but again then, that’s the complete idea of embracing a tuning company to tweak your ride, isn’t it?

Therefore, where would your money be if you had a Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² and a generous spending budget to tune it – Renntech or Brabus?
